My culinary journey began in Chicago, rooted in five-star, family-owned restaurants and hotels where excellence was the standard. From the start, my vision has been to elevate corporate lunches and events—moving beyond basic catering to thoughtfully prepared, restaurant-quality entrées.
I was introduced to the kitchen at an early age while working alongside my father, an executive chef and owner of a small, local family restaurant. At 13, I started washing dishes. By the next summer, I was preparing soups for service, and before long, I was making soups, sauces, and consommés—learning the fundamentals from the ground up.
After several years in the kitchen, I took a professional detour into finance, working at the Chicago Board of Trade and with several financial institutions. Once my children were through college, I returned to the culinary industry, where I have spent the past 15 years as a sous chef and executive chef.
Today, I bring that full circle of experience—fine dining, business acumen, and hands-on leadership—to my work as the owner of Bill Huff Catering.
